I have been to The Weston Homes now 3 times with Gillingham, once in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy which was a memorable night seeing our keeper Stuart Nelson score the winning penalty to send us through to the next round, but still haven't seen a Gillingham win other than a penalty shoot-out! Although it's a nice ground to visit, it's not one of my favourable away grounds to visit even though we practically play Colchester every season. The ground itself is pretty much in the middle of nowhere as the ground is located by the motorway so there's nothing around the ground itself which is a disappointment really. Also very unfortunate not to visit the old ground Layer Road although had heard from others it wasn't much of a ground to visit either! Colchester train station is the nearest to the ground, although when I last went, I got on the bus near to the station which runs around every 10 mins.
